Great discussion guys and love the podcast. Just wanted to say as a martial arts enthusiastic myself how much it tickled me when they were talking about great fighter irl as an analogy for lightsaber forms primarily when they were saying about how the best fighters use multiple styles and Aaron posited a combination of aikido, tai chi and to a lesser level karate which at least in the former 2 cases are generally considered some of the least effective arts for fighting.

Just wanted to throw this out there since I couldn’t find a reaction for it, but you guys should totally react to the Star Wars short film “Darth Maul, Apprentice”. It’s based on Maul’s final act before he became a Darth, and while I’m not sure if the story’s canon, the overall production is so fantastic that I wish it was. I'm sad this series will be over I feel like quite a few people complained abut the 2nd season being full of filler episodes which I love doesn't seem like this series was given the time it needed but maybe I am wrong maybe it was just supposed to have 3 seasons

Watching this episode made me really want a Metal Gear Solid type stealth game set in the Star Wars universe. We just don’t get enough stealth games in general since MGS5 and Dishonored 2

I had no issue with the dagger lining up in ep9. When its been established that future sight exists in a universe, its kinda weird to say that a weapon lining up is impossible.

I was lucky to read this book before Last Jedi. She seemed like a grown up Holdo to me. The purple hair, not telling people her plan, being quirky. It was great. Then very sad as Leia lost another long time friend.

“Bloodline” the follow-up to “Princess Of Alderaan” is GREAT New Republic novel. It smooths the rough edges of the Sequel Trilogy lore so well. Claudia Grey is just an all-round phenomenal writer, all her Star Wars novels are bangers.

Star Wars is one of those unique ongoing universes where if you don’t vibe with some aspect of it, some writer will eventually find a new crazy/fun/messed-up/interesting/philosophical angle on that thing that will help you find enjoyment in it down the road. Canto Bight is a great example, I don’t massively enjoy that section of the movie (mainly due to the CGI) but the Canto Bight novel made me ADORE the background aliens and the underworld-with-a-polished-up-sheen setting. That novel (plus the Aphra comics) is the reason I’m really hyped for Canto Bight to be playable in Outlaws!

When I think of the Canto Bight section of Last Jedi it's hard not to remember all the press leading up the film, quotes like "we were pleasantly surprised by how much fans took to the new characters, so we filmed extra scenes in the next one", all the controversy over Finn being absent from the trailers and the suspicions he'd been "Disney'd" after Force Awakens. Since the Finn/Rose plotline dead-ends with the failed attempt to stop the hyperspace tracking and doesnt actually impact any of the other events in the movie, it really feels like Canto Bight etc was added as an afterthought. I'd go out on a limb and say none of the hyperspace tracking or Canto Bight stuff was present in the original script. Taking that further, I suspect originally it was that there was a suspected traitor on the ship and this was how they were being tracked, I believe some lines in the final film still suggest that, and Holdo's behaviour etc makes much more sense in that context. I find Canto Bight very unsatisfying. They only need to go there in the first place because there's only 1 master codebreaker in the galaxy that can do the task, as far as Moz is aware. They get there, randomly meet a different guy who also claims he can do it. He's a scoundrel, but he has a heart of gold, but then not really? He's also a distracting famous-person cameo. Slapstick is used as a literal "get out of jail free" card as BD8 hilariously ties up all the prison guards offscreen so that the audience goes "lol, how does that work?" I actually liked the rest of The Last Jedi, I just wish they'd given Finn something more relevant to the rest of the stuff going on.

Love Last Jedi also 🎉 Bloodline is amazing book too. Leia gets her own adventure. Fully agree on the form argument. Baylen Skoll doesn’t use a certain form, how he fights is just heavy handed and like a Knight Templar.

The thing that really sets Star Wars apart from other sci fi is the critters - most have aliens, but alien animals? Star Wars has them on almost every planet, and it's awesome.

When it comes to hating something, sadly most people vocalise and focus on it above any positive, which reflects more on themselves than whatever it is they’re hating on. Fact of life. Goes beyond Star Wars in that sense.

Eric saying at the end that he and Aaron thought there was a NEED for a channel like this with all the negativity is beyond true. I adored Star Wars as a kid, I was born in 2001 so I grew up with the prequels and by the time the sequels came out I wasn't really interested anymore. UA-cam recommended me their Mando S1 reaction and I'd not seen the show or even thought about it, and I didn't even enjoy watching any reaction channels but I watched it and their incredible love of the franchise completely brought me back in. Now 22 years old and I love Star Wars more than I've ever loved it, even as a kid. Are there things I don't like about it? Loads. But this channel (+Blind Wave) is somewhere I can come, watch their reactions, leave my thoughts and see what other people think without being told my opinion is wrong or I should be thinking a different way. It's a great community and something the online Star Wars fandom desperately needed without even knowing we needed it. I do my work on one screen and have this or their reactions to Star Wars shows (or any show) and just have a good time listening. I don't even read the Star Wars books but listening to what they loved about the books is still great. Hope they know how much we all appreciate this channel.

I find that Canto part of the movie when it comes to Finn isn't about the rich, the good or bad. It's about him. He's shown the bad, the rich, and told how it is all bad and how they benefit the 'enemy'. Where DJ stands on the sideline and sees it on the sideline. He invites Finn to continue to stand on that sideline. To continue running. Canto was about Finn realising that he can't run. The first order isn't the only evil, and standing on that sideline will never change that. Without Canto, without DJ. Finn never becomes 'Rebel scum.'

Eric summarized himself in a way that spiritually resonates with me. I have also a hard time disliking stuff. For me it's just like he said: disliking stuff is boring. Usually when I dislike something I don't get hung up on it at all, I just quickly lose intrest and move on to the point I can't even bring myself to say I dislike it or hate it. Even when something feels odd in my eyes I try to look at the good stuff in it or find the most pausible points in it. There is only one thing that I am good at hating tho: toxic people with toxic opinions.

From the moment i saw the Zillo-Beast yesterday i was waiting for the reaction of Aarom to its reappearance. I was not disappointed. 19:25 I will admit that this exchange between Crosshair and Rampart made me a bit anxious about the finale, because in most movies/shows that last line of Rampart would be foreshadowing something. And it's either Rampart ultimately not betraying the Batch to the Empire or Crosshair, despite everything, doing it again.

Whatever bad things happen to Rampart, I also imagine happening to Bode Akuna, since they're both voiced by the same guy. It brings me a little twinge of satisfaction.

I've had a theory about all of the force sensitive people in the last few shows, They have all had a connection with nature and have been able to communicate with animals. I don't exactly know what the theory is, but there you have it.....
